Those of you who rely on third party headsets to chat to your buddies on the PlayStation 3 will be kind of happy to know that they will work on the PlayStation 4, but not right away.
Until Sony release a patch “in the future” your third party headsets like the Pulse Elite Gaming headset won’t be compatible with the PlayStation 4 which means until then you’ll have to rely on the bundled earbud until compatible hardware is released.
There is good news for those who have shelled out a packet for one of Astro Gaming’s headsets, according to Game Informer those that uses a TOSlink cable to feed audio data because they will work but you won’t be able to use said headphones or Bluetooth to chat. Astro have said it will patch the former in later down the line but at least you’ll be able to hear your friends.
This news comes once again from out favourite Sony representative, Shuhei Yoshida who answered “it eventually will” when asked whether the Pulse Elite Gaming headset will work on the PlayStation 4.
