In one of the latest screenshots for Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U, Pokémon fans would have probably recognised the unmistakeable rainbow coloured antlers that belong to the cover monster for one of the latest Pokémon titles for the 3DS, Pokémon X, It seems exciting, but the games creator, Masahiro Sakurai, is currently staying tight lipped.

In the latest Super Smash Bros. screenshot featuring everyone’s favourite Pokémon, Pikachu, also features the colourful antlers of Pokémon X’s Xerneas, the back of it’s head is there too. With everyone assuming the Pokémon will also be a playable character in the game, the games creator is remaining quiet on the subject.

Posting on Miiverse, Sakurai wrote: “We have absolutely nothing to announce today regarding Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. Really!” not to take that on face value the speculation train has refuelled and is leaving the station with some suggesting the Pokémon Trainer will be making a return to the game as well as Xerneas itself making a special, random appearance from a Pokéball.
