Around an hour ago Rockstar has pushed out a new patch for Grand Theft Auto V which hopes to thwart the issues some players have been having with loss of characters and progress on Grand Theft Auto Online.
The patch which should be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at some point today is set to weigh in at 39MB and 59MB respectively and hopes to fix the issues that some people have had with loss of characters or progress when re-visiting GTA Online.
Rockstar have yet to release any patch notes for the update, but have replied to some users via comments to say that the patch notes will be released on the NewsWire later today. Some users suggest that the new patch has fixed some of the exploits which allow users to farm XP and Money as well as stopping players repeating the same missions over and over again. Others are still reporting character losses.
If you’re hoping to join GTA Online and see that your character is missing, here are some helpful hints Rockstar are suggesting. I do recommend following these instructions as they worked perfectly for me and I’m yet to lose my character.
If you receive the message ‘The Rockstar Cloud Servers Are Unavailable’, please return to GTAV Story Mode and follow the steps above. Please do not press “Retry” on the message and do not proceed online with saving disabled, as this may lead to overwriting your existing character.
