sunset overdrive

Sunset Overdrive was first revealed to us at E3 earlier this year as an Xbox One exclusive but several petitions have been started to get the developers Insomniac Games to bring the free-running, open world shooter to Sony’s PlayStation 4. Finally Insomniac’s Tim Salvitti, speaking with OXM, has stated that they game is staying as an Xbox One exclusive for now.

That doesn’t mean that it won’t happen one day, but he confirms that Sunset Overdrive is, for now, an Xbox One exclusive and just that. Speaking with OXM Salvitti stated “Petitions will not change that. We have a partner in Microsoft, that we are happy with for this title. That doesn’t mean we can’t and won’t work with other publishers (see Into the Nexus).”

It’s not all bad news though. There is always the possibility of the game coming to Sony’s consoles: “I will not say never because you never really know (heck Ratchet could end up on Xbox one day), but we are not planning on it being on the PS4, nor is it planned to be a timed exclusive. It is being developed and optimized for the Xbox One.”

For now however it is just that. Sunset Overdrive is an Xbox One exclusive and that’s all there is to say.
