A leaked image of the Portuguese version of the Xbox One manual has appeared on the gaming forum NeoGAF which reveals some interesting information about the Kinect 2.0.
NeoGAF user kazebyaka has posted what seems to be the instruction manual for Microsoft’s next generation console, The bad news is that it’s in Portuguese but the good news is that some of the information has been translated including details on the Kinect 2.0.
The leaked booklet states that a minimum distance of 1.4 metres (or 4.5 feet) is required between the you and the Kinect sensor.. What’s more, the diagrams indicate that the Kinect 2.0 can be mounted no more than 1.8 metres above the console, and no less than 0.6 metres from the ground.
This means that the Kinect 2.0 has improved a lot over the current Kinect sensor which needs a minimum of 1.8 meters between you and the sensor.
Some information on the console itself has been revealed too such as; the console has to remain in the horizontal position and cannot stand up like the current generation console, and finally there’s a step which instructs the user to “Connect to the Internet”, something that will actually be required in order to download the “Day One Patch” which turns the ‘always on’ Internet requirement off.
Microsoft are yet to confirm this information but with little under a month to wait until the console launches in the UK and US on November 22 we’ll find out soon enough!
