Back in September Ubisoft announced a stand alone game, Assassin’s Creed Pirates. The game gives players the opportunity to explore the Caribbean further as they take control of Alonzo Batilia, a young and ambitious captain. Developed by Ubisoft Paris, players can expect to get a more indepth look at the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy.
The game will center around Alonzo and his search for the treasure of La Buse. We’ll see him upgrade his ship and grow to fight bigger and more powerful enemies on the open waters. Like Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, the game will also feature dynamic weather types to Assassin’s Creed Pirates making the seas a treacherous place to be.
The game will launch December 5th for iOS and Android on Tablets and Phones. The game will also feature historical characters, some of which we see in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. These include Blackbeard as well as Benjamin Hornigold.
As in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the Caribbean seas are your hunting grounds. Sail from harbor to harbor and explore a huge map featuring paradise islands, volcanic shores, mangroves and many more gorgeous landscapes.
Crews play a big role in both Black Flag and Pirates so manning your ship up is very important, selecting crew members in Assassin’s Creed Pirates grants you or Alonzo perks, what these perks entail I’m not sure, but the details will surface soon no doubt.
Check back after December 5th for a review of Assassin’s Creed Pirates.
In the meantime though, let us know what you think. Are you excited to play a stand alone Assassin’s Creed Title or do you think the only use for tablets should be as a second screen? Let us know in the comments below!
