Square Enix’s latest role-playing game to hit European shores will be arriving December 6 2013, and February 7 2014 in North America.

Bravely Default is a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light and has been developed alongside Silicon Studio of 3D Dot Game Heroes fame.

Originally released in Japan in October 2012, it received an extremely positive reception, enough for it’s creators to justify spending over a year localising the numerous cut scenes and voice acting for a world-wide audience.

Emphasis is on turn-based combat and multi-hit combo moves. Players have the option to “Default”, where they store battle points rather than fight, and to “Brave”, where they unleash multiple stored attacks in one go.

A collector’s edition on the highly anticipated title is available exclusively at The collectors edition features a figurine of game character Agnés, an artbook, 30 augmented reality cards for use with your 3DS, and an original soundtrack CD.

Regular editions are available from a variety of retailers.

For those wanting a sample of the experience, the demo for Bravely Default is available on the 3DS eShop now.
