Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin has confirmed on his Twitter account that their upcoming title Call of Duty: Ghosts will not run at the same resolution on both the Xbox One and PS4.
Rubin said he, “…wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4. We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both.”
Am I wrong in reading this as; ‘We wanted both to hit 60fps but the Xbox One couldn’t do it at 1080p,’?
This is more bad news for Microsoft’s Xbox One after all the speculation since the release of each console’s hardware specifications. The Xbox One was also feared to have very strict DRM policies on its games, so this won’t help the public image of the next gen console coming up to its release.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is scheduled for release on November 5 with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 releases around the consoles launch.
