Previously slated for a launch release, Microsoft’s next-generation console will be seeing PopCap Games’ colourful puzzle game Peggle 2 arriving this December, according to Garth Chouteau, PR Senior Director of PopCap.
In a discussion with GamesBeat, the director stated that “Peggle 2 is a ‘launch timeframe’ title, but will not launch day-and-date with the Xbox One — instead, it will become available a few weeks later in December.”
After its rather brief unveiling at the Electronic Arts E3 2013 press conference, Microsoft employee Phil Spencer expressed that Peggle 2, along with PopCap’s more anticipated Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, will both be coming to the Xbox One first. PopCap Games later announced that the game will be arriving a little later than expected, though hinting at a post-Xbox One launch release date, they did not specify a timeframe.
PopCap also recently released three videos bringing light to several of the Peggle Masters involved in Peggle’s upcoming successor. Originally, the family-friendly Peggle series began on PC and Mac in 2007, and was later ported across a plethora of platforms, such as the Sony PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and iOS.
With a number of fantastic titles in line for next-generation consoles this year along with the majority of gamers grasping on to the PlayStation bandwagon, will the absence of a release in time for launch truly be so disconcerting? Let us know in the comments below…
