Last month UK movie and game rental store brought the Adminstrators in because they were in a bit of financial difficulty. They then cancelled Xbox One and PlayStation 4 pre-orders and refused to stock games like Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed IV, and Call of Duty. Thankfully for some they managed to get a handful of PlayStation 4’s and Xbox Ones but it still looks like the company is in trouble.
The latest news surrounding Blockbuster is that 62 more stores are closing across the UK, my local store included which is resulting in the loss of 427 employees. The announcement comes from joint administrators, Simon Thomas and Nick O’Reilly of Moorfields Corporate Recovery LLP.
This is the second time Blockbuster has had to call in the Administrators as they once again look for someone to get them out of financial difficulties.
If your store is one of the many affected be sure to head down in a day or two to grab some bargains as they’ll be clearing out their stock in the days running up to the closures.
