I’ve been itching to get my hands on the LG G Flex, LG’s bendy smartphone with a self proclaimed self-healing back cover. It looks like I might finally get my chance as EE have just announced that they’ll be getting display models in store as soon as Friday December 20, with the handset going on general sale in February 2014.
Announced in October the LG G Flex is the first phone with a flexible 6-inch Plastic OLED Display with a 1280 x 720 resolution that bends on the horizontal axis. It’s also home to a self-healing back cover that can withstand scratches and look newer for longer. Rumours have been circulating for some time that the bendy, self healing handset will be coming to Europe, so it’s nice to finally hear about some more definitive dates.
Come Friday, you’ll be able to get hands-on with the LG G Flex at a very select few of EE’s stores, specifically; The Westfield Shopping Centres in London’s Stratford and White City, Oxford Street, the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, Clumber Street in Nottingham, the Trafford Centre in Manchester, Western Road in Brighton, Lions Yard in Cambridge, the Merryhill Centre in Merry Hill, and the Meadowhall Centre in Sheffield.
Looks like I’m heading to Nottingham this weekend.
EE hasn’t announced any pricing or a specific date when the handset will go on sale but have said that it’ll go on general sale in February.
