The results are in and surprisingly EA’s FIFA 14 has swooped in and has stolen Christmas number 1 from the three week grasp of Call of Duty: Ghosts, ending the military shooter’s 5-year Christmas number 1 reign.
According to the GfK Chart-Track EA’s much loved football title beat Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts by around 17,000 units after an 18 per cent rise in sales last week – that’s a pretty impressive Christmas rush!
FIFA 14 at number one adds another title to EA’s collection of Christmas number one’s since the charts began 28 years ago, making FIFA 14 the 14th title to win Christmas number 1 – how apt.
Elsewhere in the charts Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag sails into third place thanks to retailer bundles pushing EA’s Battlefield 4 down to fourth place. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is in fifth place with Grand Theft Auto V and Just Dance 2014 in sixth and seventh place respectively.
In at eight is Need for Speed: Rivals, nine is Sony’s Killzone: Shadow Fall, and in tenth place is Minecraft: Xbox One Edition.
