According to a recent rumour Minecraft could be heading to the Wii U some time in the new year, that is according to a ‘retailer’ who has shared some insider information to Nintendo Enthusiast. It goes without saying however to take this with a pinch of salt.

We know already that Nintendo do have a “continuing relationship” with Mojang, the creators of the simple block building sand box game, but no details on whether Minecraft will be coming to the Wii U have been released. Nintendo Enthusiast however have reason to believe that this might be rectified pretty soon!

For some unknown reason a ‘retailer’ has information that Minecraft for the Wii U is in development and that the developer is currently in possession of Wii U dev kits. The retailer also revealed that the Wii U version of Minecraft will have much of it’s focus on the GamePad.

Expected launch of the Wii U Edition is rumoured to be the end of the new year along with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 editions. Whether or not that’s going to happen, we’ll have to wait and see, perhaps we’ll hear something at E3 2014?
