Assassin’s Creed fans can look forward to the Illustrious Pirate DLC which is released today. Some fans of Black Flag may of already seen parts of the Illustrious Pirate pack through special editions they purchased upon the games release. Some people, who like me ordered the Black Chest Edition will of gotten all three of the special Islands that featured as part of the DLC.
Black Island is a single player mission with pirate treasure at the end of it. Included is the legendary Black Ship, Captain Morgans Outfit as well as picture and title for multiplayer and it also includes his Silver Flintlock Pistols which Edward can use as you see fit.
Mystery Island again is a single player mission with more loot for Edward. Everyone’s favourite Gentleman Pirate, Stede Bonnet has had his ship used to give The Jackdaw a new look with sails and a figurehead and you can also get Stede’s Outfit for Kenway, as well as a variation of it for your Multiplayer character. This island will also give you access to more multiplayer items.
The third and final island is Sacrifice Island, this island is centered around Captain Drake. You will be able to unlock his Sword, Pistols and outfit for single player use. And for multiplayer you can again get tiles and pictures for your profile as well as a Relic to mark your journey to the deadly island.
The three islands make up the largest part of the DLC but there is infact more on offer. You can continue to change The Jackdaws appearance with the Ivory Wheel and the Iron Wheel. Multiplayer wise, you can change your favourite characters appearance with relics like the spyglass or the compass. There are also a number of profile items too, more titles and pictures than you can shake a stick at.
The pack itself is available now to season pass holders on Xbox 360 or Xbox One at no extra cost and will be available to PS3 and PS4 owners tomorrow. PC owners won’t have to wait either as it’s coming your way too!
Are you excited for the Illustrious Pirate DLC or have you been an Illustrious Pirate since the games release? What are your thoughts on the way games release bonus content from special editions as DLC later down the line? Should everyone be able to get it or should special editions be kept special?
