It seems like almost Yesterday I was writing about how DayZ had hit the 875,000 mark.. Oh wait, it was. That’s pretty impressive for a standalone title that’s not expected to be in Beta until the end of 2014. Launching on Monday, December 16, DayZ had hit an incredible one million sales via Steam’s Early Access.

I think the Alpha’s success is in part thanks to the incredible array of videos that we’ve seen coming out of the game such as people being mugged, people being tied up by pantless lunatics, and general hostility from other survivors, actually, none of the daft videos that have come out of DayZ has involved zombies at all…

You can purchase and download the Alpha on Steam for a cost of £19.99 / €23.99 / $29.99. But bear in mind, the Alpha is a work in progress and not for the feint hearted. “We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle.” says CEO Marek Spanel.
