Filled with infinite possibilities, Disney Interactive are onto a winner with Disney Infinity. According to a report from the New York Times, the sandbox creation game’s starter pack which includes the game, the play board, and three figures, has hit 3 million sales.
That’s right, three million James P. Sullivans, Mr. Incredibles, and Captain Jack Sparrows have been let out into the wild thanks to sales of the games starter packs. The game itself did incredibly well last year too becoming the tenth best-selling game of 2013, according to data from the NPD Group.
Disney Infinity is a fairly difficult game to describe other than lumping it into the ‘sandbox’ category. The game gives players the chance to build puzzle games, racing games, and platformers as well as the ability to download pre-made games built by the Disney Infinity community and staff. Not only that players can purchase additional physical characters to play with in-game.
Ending 2013 Disney Infinity did incredibly well but fell short to rival game Skylanders: Swap Force with Activision shifting 597,000 copies of the game, while Disney Interactive shipped 551,000 units of Disney Infinity.
