You probably didn’t notice but, the Huawei Ascend P6 S has now been launched without Huawei showcasing it at CES 2014, or building up to any real announcement. The phone appears to be a simple upgrade of the Ascend P6.
Specification-wise it has a 4.7″ 720p HD screen as with the Ascend P6, however it’s home to a 1.6GHz processor as opposed to the 1.5GHz found on its predecessor. It’ll also come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with a UI by Huawei. Additionally it has an 8MP main camera and a 5MP front facing camera, along with the rather nice feature of the screen being usable while wearing gloves, the lack of which on my touch devices is something that has annoyed me greatly over the years.
So far the phone is only available in China, with no information on a Western release, for a price of around $446.
