Probably one of the most anticipated titles to come out for the Wii U this year is Mario Kart 8, the latest instalment into the Mario Kart series which features new characters, new tracks, and new kart transformations.
In a company briefing yesterday Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed that Mario Kart 8 is expected to launch some time within a May release window. Though could it come soon enough to save the Wii U and it’s dwindling numbers?
Mario Kart 8 is expected to see the return of a few familiar faces as well as reimaginings of old tracks paired with a handful of new ones, there’s also a brand-new anti-gravity mechanic which sets to turn the game on its head.
We managed to get hands-on with Mario Kart 8 at a post E3 press event last year, though the game has probably changed a bunch since then, but you can read our thoughts here.
