After Deadpool was taken off the download list on Steam, a few of us were wondering just what the loudmouthed, fourth-wall breaking assassin had done to offend.

It turns out that Marvel licensed games published by Activision have run the course of their contract and have been removed for legal reasons. Obviously, with both companies parting ways at this point, it was only a matter of time before the games were delisted.

It’s not only Deadpool that’s had the chop though, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: Destiny, X-Men: The Official Game, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows and all of the games’ DLC have been wiped from Steam, Playstation Network and Xbox Live.

You can see the official comment from the community manager of Activision, Dan Amrich HERE on Twitter.

If you missed them in the recent online sales, that was your last chance. Not to fear, as you can still grab one of those mouldy old boxed copies from the days before digital sales, although you may have a hard time getting any extra content.
