Microsoft Accidentally Reveals Halo for Xbox One as Halo 5, Immediately Back Tracks.

In regards to Halo on Microsoft’s next-generation console, the Xbox One, what we know for sure is that it is happening and that it is a Halo title, but Microsoft have been a little reluctant to call it Halo 5, they’ve actually been pretty reluctant to call it Halo at all.. A recent Facebook post from Xbox Australia may have just spilled the beans, though were soon to back-track and refute all hype surrounding the pseudo announcement.

Microsoft are currently running a marketing campaign via their Facebook pages titled ‘Why to Buy the Xbox One’. One particular status from Xbox Australia read the following: ”Reason #14 – The Prometheans and Covenant just won’t give John-117 a break! Master Chief returns for the thrilling continuation of the Reclaimer Saga in Halo 5.”

Despite accidentally revealing that the next Halo will be titled Halo 5, Microsoft were soon to refute the status stating that it was incorrect and an error.

“This post was made in error, and we will be updating it shortly. We have made no announcements regarding the name of Halo on Xbox One. As we have stated previously, the award-winning franchise continues on Xbox One, beginning in 2014. We have no further details to share at this time.”

So is it Halo 5? Is it going to be titled Halo at all? Perhaps something like ‘The Master Chief Chronicles’ is in store for the next Halo title.. What are your thoughts? Leave a comment below!
