With the expected announcement and possible release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 in April it comes as no surprise that the spec sheet has already leaked, but it’s a little more than just a leak, apparently these specs are “confirmed” along with the news that Samsung will be launching Mini and a Zoom variant of the Galaxy S5.

The news comes exclusively from SamMobile who have heard from an insider regarding the specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 and get this, it’ll come in both a plastic and metal version..

Though SamMobile in the past has been fairly spot-on with information regarding unreleased Samsung devices, I’m going to take the following information with a pinch of salt until Samsung actually announce the device. For now however here’s the apparently “confirmed” specs for the Samsung Galaxy S5:

  • Available in both Plastic and Metal variants.
  • The Metal version will be priced at around 800 Euros (£665).
  • The Plastic version will be priced at around 650 Euros (£542).
  • Suspected 5.25 AMOLED display with 2,560×1,440 resolution.
  • 16-megapixel camera
  • Powered by a Exynos 6 processor or a Snapdragon 805 (EU/US possibly)
  • Android 4.4 KitKat is expected

Though the spec sheet is impressive it has left a few things unanswered such as, what RAM will the S5 have? Possibly 2GB or will they be introducing the new 4GB chip? Will the TouchWiz UI remain unchanged or will it get a new lease of life? Front facing camera? Eye tracking? Though these specs are “confirmed” they’re more likely lucky guesses based on rumours and taking an educated guess based on the state of the smartphone market right now.

SamMobile also confirmed the future release of a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and a Samsung Galazy S5 Zoom, though again, could always be educated guesses based on the history of Samsung releases. Both devices are expected to have a Super AMOLED display.

Again, I’m taking this information with a pinch of salt until Samsung announce something in March/April. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment below!
