Yesterday The LEGO Group announced a partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products to officially launch The Simpsons LEGO sets. Launching in February, LEGO plan to release a 42 Evergreen Terrace construction set as well as a handful of The Simpson’s Mini Figures – why can’t I have them now?
Available in February across LEGO stores and via the LEGO Shop at Home catalog and website, you’ll be able to build 42 Evergreen Terrace, also known as, The Simpson’s family home. Along with the rather hefty looking construction set you’ll also get the entire Simpson’s family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie along with neighbor Ned Flanders.
If building the Simpsons home and playing with mini Simpsons characters wasn’t enough, you’ll also be able to fully open up the Simpsons’ abode to reveal every single room in the house – though I might add that it’s not an exact replica of the house in the show, but all of the major ingredients are there.
Later on in the year, in May, LEGO also plan to launch a separate line of The Simpson’s Mini Figures which are set to launch in all mass toy retailers.
To celebrate the release of the The Simpsons LEGO set, FOX is scheduled to air a special LEGO episode of The Simpsons in May in the US, which is set to feature Springfield and its cast of characters in LEGO form.
If you’re just as excited as me for The Simpsons LEGO set, you might want to put aside some cash as the 42 Evergreen Terrace kit will set you back around $199/£120.
When LEGO launch the line of 16 mini figures, who are you hoping to find in your mystery bag? I’m really hoping for Sideshow Bob and Chief Wiggum. Let me know who’d you like to see in the comments below!
