Toshiba Announces Its First Chromebook at CES 2014

It looks like Toshiba are the latest company to join the Chromebook crew along side Samsung, Acer, and HP with their new ‘Toshiba Chromebook’ bringing with it a large screen, a slim form factor, and is priced at £249.

Currently titled the Toshiba Chromebook, the lightweight Chrome OS latptop sports a fairly large 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768. It packs a Intel Celeron ULT “Bay Trail” processor complete with 2GB of RAM and like most other Chromebooks there’s a 16GB SSD complete with 100GB Google Drive storage.

In terms of battery life the Toshiba Chromebook is fairly on par with current Chromebooks with around 9 hours of use to be expected. It also steps up compared to current Chromebooks however when it comes to inputs. The Toshiba Chromebook sports two USB 3.0 ports, and an SD card reader, and a HDMI input. There’s also a HD webcam, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0.

If you’re looking to grab the Toshiba Chromebook you can expect it to become available in the UK in February priced at £249.
