Life just got that little bit easier for gamers in the US who in April received a Pizza Hut app on the Xbox 360 which allowed gamers to jump out of their gaming session to order Pizza. Within four months Pizza Hut had earned over $1 million alone from the Xbox 360 app. That’s a lot of pizza.
The Pizza Hut app is more than just a way to order delicious pizza, you can literally play with your food using the Kinect, choose what gets added, and see (almost) exactly what your pizza will look like on arrival.
Speaking with Polygon Doug Terfehr, director of public relations for Pizza Hut said: “It’s been a source of unbelievable growth for us, just the explosion of people who wanted to download it, experiment with it, play with it with Kinect. As soon as we did one, everyone was contacting us to do the next [one].”
Whether or not the app will appear on the Xbox One, Sony’s PlayStation 3 / PlayStation 4 or even Nintendo’s Wii U remains to be seen, though Terfehr said: “Conversations continue to be ongoing with us. Wherever you are, we want to be.”
