The crowd funded retro platforming title Shovel Knight is set to get some pretty awesome exclusive multiplayer features that you’ll find on the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game when it launches on March 31, Yacht Club Games announced earlier this week.
Those of you planning to grab Shovel Knight on Nintendo 3DS or Wii U will find some pretty neat features along side the already awesome looking gampley. Earlier this week Yacht Club Games announced that they’ve implemented a new feature for the 3DS that they’ve currently called ‘StreetPass Arena’.
The Street Pass Arena is a little complicated but basically the game will use the StreetPass service to allow users to compete against each other though pre-recorded gameplay records.. The game will record 5-second clips of players battling or collecting gems which other players then somehow try to better, the winner then ends up receiving a prize of gold.
I suppose it’s a sort-of race against the ghost feature where one players sets a target and other players must beat it to win..
For the Wii U there’s a much less complicated feature which hopes to offer help to those a little stuck. Codenamed ‘The Digger’s Diary’ this feature allows players to leave hints and tips for other players using the Game Pad. If you find yourself a little stuck on a level you can check out the diary to see if there are any helpful hints – brilliant.
“Every time there’s a room where you don’t know what to do, or if you just want some more information, you can tap on this diary,” Yacht Club’s Sean Velasco said to Shack News.
Shovel Knight is shaping up to be a pretty awesome title and it’s definitely one I’ve got marked in my diary! Shovel Knight will launch on 3DS, PC, and Wii U on March 31.
