As excited as I was about the Thief reboot, I’m actually glad I didn’t shell out the £40+ asking price for what seems to be a complete crock of shit – at least that’s what James Knack thinks about it (review coming later), as well as a handful of other critics. Nonetheless, Eidos Montreal’s Thief still managed to jump into first place.
There were three new entries into this weeks gaming chart rundown. The first of course being Thief who apparently obliterated the record set by Thief: Deadly Shadows in terms of sales not only that it recorded the second-highest one-week sales of any game in the UK so far this year, being beaten by FIFA 14.
The second new entry comes from Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare which gives an entirely fresh take on the third person shooter genre that’s surprisingly quite good! This is then followed by the third new entry of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. So the run down this week is as follows:
Thief in first place, the LEGO Movie Videogame in second place, FIFA 14 in third followed by Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare in fourth. In fifth is Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 in sixth, LEGO Marvel Super Hereos in seventh, and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition in eighth. In ninth place is Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which is followed by Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in tenth.
