Justice League Film Is Finally Incoming

Greg Silverman, President of Worldwide Production at Warner Bros., has confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that a Justice League Movie is in development and is scheduled for release after next years follow up to “Man Of Steel”, “Superman vs Batman”. The film will be Directed by Zack Snyder and see the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

When talking about the Justice League film, Mr Silverman said “It will be a further expansion of this universe,’Superman vs Batman’ will lead into ‘Justice League.’”

With the script still being in development there is no information on who else will be joining the Justice League along side Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, although with the recent announcement that Ray Fisher has been cast as Cyborg in “Superman vs Batman” it is very likely we will see him in the Justice League.

The Justice League is DC comics version of the Avengers, a group of the DC universe’s greatest heroes coming together to take on threats that none could handle alone. Many heroes have been apart of the Justice League at one time or another but the most recent team that came together at the beginning of the New 52 has been Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, The Flash and Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently confirmed on his twitter that he and DC had finally decided what character he will be taking on after, years of talks between him and the studio. The rumour mill has been suggesting everyone from Cyborg (who has since been announced), John Stewart (a member of the Green Lantern Corp) to Aquaman or Black Adam. Black Adam is a well known villain in the DCU and is enough of a threat to bring the Justice League together. As these are all rumours we will just have to wait for the official announcement of his role.

“Justice League” may not be the only Justice League movie we see in the future, Guillermo del Toro has been working on a “Justice League Dark” movie focusing on the magic side of the DCU.
