Thomas Was Alone Hits One Million Sales and Counting.

Minimalist block-based platform puzzler, Thomas Was Alone, by british developer Mike Bithell has just hit one million copies sold and counting following its release in 2012.

“Ummm.. so… yeah.. Thomas Was Alone has now sold over one million copies :O” Bithell tweeted last week, “not bad for a crappy little flash game.”

Released almost two years ago in July 2012 for the PC and Mac, Thomas Was Alone is more than just a simple minimalistic puzzle game, it tells the tale of sentient life emerging inside a computer system represented by polygons. What’s more the game is narrated by comedian Danny Wallace. It’s the shapes within this world you use to navigate the shifting geometry of game world as you traverse gaps and complete the puzzles.

Following the news Bithell tweeted that most of the sales were from  bundles, discounts, and promotions such as The Humble Bundle “so stop your 1mil x $10 maths right now ;)” Bithell quipped.

Right now Mike Bithell is working on a 3D stealth game titled Volume which is currently in development for the PlayStation 4. No release date has yet been revealed.
