[Update] It’s Official, The Amazing Spider-man 2 Now Available on Xbox One..

Update: It’s official. Earlier this evening Xbox Live’s Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb announced that The Amazing Spider-man 2 is now available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. There was no mention of the ‘indefinite delay’ of the Xbox One version, Hryb also didn’t mention whether the the game will be available in retail for the Xbox One.

If you’re looking to download the Xbox One version of The Amazing Spider-man 2 you can via the Xbox Game Store, please note that this still throws up a broken link for those of us in the UK.

Original Story: In a fairly surprising turn of events, the previously ‘indefintiely postponed’ Xbox One version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has become available on the Xbox Games Marketplace and is available to download right now for those in the US at a price of $59.99.

Today sees the launch of The Amazing Spider-man 2 in the US on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Wii U. The game was also supposed to launch on the Xbox One but Activision announced that it was postponed ‘indefinitely’ with the box art disappearing from the website. But for some reason, the game has landed on the Xbox Games Marketplace for Xbox One..

The game, apparently still available to download, will set you back $59.99 with a download size of almost 10GB. It’s currently unavailable on the UK Xbox Games Marketplace, but if you change the country, found on the pages footer, you’ll be able to see it, right there on sale.

Gamers have taken advantage of this and have purchased and downloaded the title with one Xbox One owner currently streaming the game on Twitch. Funnily enough the game appears to work perfectly fine with no obvious bugs or problems that may have caused Activision to lynch the game a few weeks before release.

As for an official release, Activision have said that they’re collaborating with Microsoft “in an effort to release” the title at some point, whether or not this is the effort they’re talking about is another question.

We’ve reached out to Activision for a comment.

Good news for gamers, embarrassing news for the Sony fan boys who trolled every site with negativity when they thought this wasn’t coming out for Xbox One..
