I’ve got some good and some bad news this afternoon. The good news is that Disney is set to reveal its Marvel team-up with Disney Infinity some time this month (hopefully) and the bad news is that Disney currently have no plans to introduce Star Wars characters to Disney Infinity. At least, not right now.

Last week Disney Interactive released a teaser video which obviously hinted at Marvels band of super heroes, The Avengers, will be making their presence on Disney Infinity 2.0, the next instalment to Disney’s sandbox adventure. Details are still pretty thin but according to Polygon, Disney Interactive have sent out invites to a media event which is taking place on April 30 and will “show off the latest chapter of Disney Infinity.”

The invite comes in the form of Captain America’s shield which is a nice touch.

In other news, Disney Store’s Facebook Page has confirmed that “there are no plans for Star Wars to join Disney Infinity at this moment in time.” suggesting that Disney Interactive’s current focus is introducing the massive cast of Marvel characters into the interactive sandbox game, which for some is a win in itself, for others it’s a bit of a let down.

Stay tuned to n3rdabl3 for more Disney Infinity 2.0 news on April 30.

I think they’re going to wait until closer to episode VII’s release date to put Star Wars characters in Disney Infinity. Until then, I can wait. This leaves more room for the Muppets, Gravity Falls characters, Wall-E and others.
