One of the last generations best games, The Last Of Us, is officially receiving a remastered edition for the PlayStation 4 following rumours and speculation that it was on the way. In a video interview with PlayStation Access yesterday, Evan Wells, Naughty Dog’s co-president let fans know what to expect from the new edition.
The first piece of news is that the game has been in development for a long time – a really long time. Following the success and positive reactions that the game received, Wells and the team started work on the PlayStation 4 version of the game pretty much from the moment the PlayStation 3 version was finished, although he wasn’t sure it was going to go anywhere.
When asked about new features and updates to the game, Wells replied “The graphical fidelity has been turned up to 11, we’ve got 1080p, we’re pushing the draw distances further, we’re creating higher resolution character models, better lighting, better shadows.” The game will also include all of the DLC that has been released for the PS3.
An announcement trailer has also been released showing off a few of the games 200 game of the year awards as well as one of my favourite scenes from the game.
Naughty Dog are now focusing on the previously announced Uncharted for the PS4 with “the lions share of the studio busy on that.”
The game is set to cost $59.99 or £49.99 in the UK, there is currently no release date set. Are you looking forward to playing through Joel and Ellies post apocalypse journey again? Let us know in the comments and check back soon for more news and our review of The Last of Us Remastered.
