After months of speculation as to who’s going to star in the upcoming Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Episode VII, A statement has finally been released on starwars.com announcing the cast of the highly anticipated film.
“The Star Wars team is thrilled to announce the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.” the statement reads. “Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.”
Rumours of Adam Driver involvement as the films main villain have been circling for months as has the return of the original saga stars. This news follows the announcement that all Extended Universe content is no longer canon. Now only the original trilogy, the new trilogy, The clone wars animated series and the upcoming Rebels animated series are canon.
Star Wars Episode VII will be released in cinemas on the 18th of December 2015 and is being directed by J.J. Abrams the master mind behind the recent Star Trek reboot and TV sensation LOST and cult hit Fringe. Check back soon for the latest Star Wars News.
