Watch Dogs is coming soon, although not soon enough for some of us. After coming out of nowhere at E3 last year the game was originally set to be released on the 22nd of November until it was pushed to its new release date of the 27th of May.
Yesterday IGN reported that the PC version of the will require Uplay to work. Like some of their previous games, Watch Dogs will be available through Steam and use Uplay to “support the games services.” I know this is set to a lot of PC players as the Uplay service has been riddled with problems, most recently with players trying to play Far Cry 3.
In other Uplay news, some of the challenges and rewards available in the game have been announced. For 30 U points players will unlock the Gold D50 “Bringing a new meaning to ‘one-hit wonder’, this 14 karat D50 edition is a jaw-dropper.” and for 40 U points players will gain the Papavero Stealth Edition “Avoid detection and elude the cops in the Papavero Stealth Edition. ctOS won’t know what hit it.”
The only challenge we know at the moment is for 30 U points. Fatal Focus requires plays to kill 4 enemies using one focus. Focus slows down time in game play allowing plays to link together kills or hacks and represents Aiden’s fast reflexes.
It has also been announced recently that Watch Dogs will not have a dedicated jump button and that jumping and wall climbing will be contextual.
The PC specs for the the game were recently released and be found here.
Watch Dogs is set to launch on the 27th of May on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One, it’s also hitting the Wii U at a later date. What do you think about Uplay? Let us know in the comments and check back soon for more Watch Dogs news.
