Let’s be honest here. How many of us actually played the campaign mode in the latest Call of Duty title, Call of Duty: Ghosts? I know I didn’t as Multiplayer for me is the reason why I love the Call of Duty franchise. So far Sledgehammer Games has revealed information on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s campaign and the story that it’ll feature. Sure, it looks like something I may actually play, but I’m more interested in the games Multiplayer offering. Finally, we have a bit more information surrounding that.
The latest news comes from YouTuber drift0r, previously been the source of information surrounding past Call of Duty titles, who was contacted out of the blue by Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey, revealing the teams approach on the Multiplayer mode for Advanced Warfare. According to Condrey, it’s going to be fast.
We didn’t hear from Condrey first-hand, instead drift0r paraphrased what he said regarding the games pace and use of killstreak gadgets, “We spent a ton of time designing them and building our game around them. Not yet ready to say exactly how they will be in multiplayer though but we didn’t spend all that design time just for the campaign. We wanted to make [movement] feel familiar to other CoD games but also added a few changes. We wanted to make a really fast paced CoD game.”
Condrey also revealed that the team behind Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer mode is largely made up of Call of Duty pro players and developers, saying that Sledgehammer have their ears close to the ground listening out for community feedback and suggestions. “Multiplayer is a core part of our game,” he added. “It is getting a lot of attention and development time. We are not ready to reveal what gadgets will be in multiplayer.”
As for the games Exo-suit which we’ve seen plenty of in the demo’s we’ve seen both prior to and post E3, they’ll be making an appearance in Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer mode. “Of course the Exo’s will be in multiplayer. We spent a ton of time designing them and building our game around them.” he said. “I’m not yet ready to say how they’ll be in multiplayer, but we didn’t spend all of that design time just for them to be in the campaign.”
The full video by drift0r can be seen above, and includes a little more information about the multiplayer mode in Advanced Warfare. The game is set for release on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on November 4.
