A Google Drive account of a developer working on CD Projekt Red’s upcoming RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was hacked earlier today and documents containing spoiler-heavy information have been unleashed across reddit, 4chan and other forums. In response to the leak CD Projekt Red are advising you to avoid the information if you don’t want any spoilers.
Personally I’ve tried my best to avoid the information, so I won’t be able to tell you what exactly was revealed, what I can tell you however is what CD Projekt Red has to say about the information which they have confirmed has been leaked.
“It has come to our attention that some of the production files for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have emerged on the internet,” the company’s marketing boss Michal Platkow-Gilewski told Eurogamer. “A portion of the files contains information about the story of the game so we strongly advise against accessing them, as this may heavily impact and spoil your future gaming experience. We also like to reassure everyone that the disclosure of said documents does not affect the development cycle in any way.”
Another thing I can safely reveal is what the documents contained which was several concept and full production art, various mission details including endings and descriptive scenes. The documents also discuss an in-development version of the game will run on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms, although the experience is expected to be superior on PC.
