Remember when Bungie’s community manager Deej wrote “If you’re a gamer who wants to play a Bungie game, you’re very much on our mind– every day.” in reply to a user asking if Xbox players will continue to be ignored.. Well, he obviously wasn’t including Japanese players in that comment as Sony have announced that Destiny will be a PlayStation exclusive in Japan.
Bungie is apparently equally favouring Xbox players over PlayStation players despite the PlayStation 4 getting the Destiny Alpha before any other platform and the PlayStation 3 and 4 getting the Beta before any other platform too, and lets not forget the PlayStation exclusive content that PlayStation players will be able to get a hold of when the game launches in September.
Now, here’s an even bigger kick in the balls for Japanese Xbox gamers who were hoping to grab a hold of Destiny, the game is officially a PlayStation exclusive, so if you own an Xbox 360, you’re shit outta luck, if you own an Xbox One however, it’s region free so you can get it imported – that’s something at least, right? Unfortunately, it seems that the Xbox 360’s fading presence and the Xbox One’s September 4 release attributed to the decision to make Destiny a PlayStation exclusive.
Sony are yet to confirm whether the Japanese release of Destiny will be a timed exclusive or whether the game will remain a PlayStation-only title forever. When we hear more, we’ll update this post.
