The latest video for Sledgehammer Games upcoming Call of Duty title, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare goes behind the scenes of the game story. After three years of development the team behind Advanced Warfare explain some of the methods they used to take players forty years into the future whilst trying to keep the game as realistic as possible.
Sledgehammer Games Creative Director Bret Robbins discusses how research and technology come together to elevate the storytelling experience, such as talking with experts from the US Marines, Black Ops, and Navy Seals as well as getting an idea as to what the world will be like in forty years time from futurists, people dedicated to predicting life in the future.
“This time around we’ve focused on telling a very compelling story with very compelling characters, and we’ve done new storytelling techniques to get that across,” explains Robbins. “Our cinematics all feature fully rendered character animations now, the character in game will looks just like the actor in real life, we use his voice, we use his full body performance and you just get a very realistic, lifelike, filmic, performance out of these amazing actors we have.”
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to land on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStaion 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on November 4.
