When you think of Insomniac Games, the first thing that probably comes to mind is their upcoming open world, third person shooter, Sunset Overdrive, or everyone’s favourite duo, Ratchet & Clank. Though these big budget games are what made Insomiac Games something of a household name when you think of fun and ridiculous shooters, they’re trying their hand at something smaller; Slow Down, Bull.
Slow Down, Bull is something of an experiment explains Insomniac Games’ Desiger, Lisa Brown. It’s an idea that stemmed from the simple question: “What’s the smallest number of Insomniacs it would take to make a great game?” and the answer, a small action adventure game starring a stressed out, overachiever bull named Axel who’s a bit of a kleptomaniac.
There’s just one problem: Axel is easily stressed out, and when he does he’ll succumb to his instincts and, well, he’ll turn into, as the saying goes, a bull in a china shop. He’ll have a tempter tantrum and trample all over that which he loves. It’s you, the player’s job to keep his cool whilst trying to achieve his goals, which it to collect all things beautiful.
Right now there’s no release date for Slow Down, Bull, a game which is being made by a team of 4-5 people in Unity for the PC, but they’re actively streaming the game on their Twitch channel which I definitely recommend you keep on the look out for.
Oh, and here’s some key art.
