Earlier this month Taiwanese actor / professional race car driver known as Jimmy Lin posted an image of himself on Chinese social networking site weibo.com holding what he said is a beta model of the new iPhone 6 next to the current iPhone 5S, the same device which he also revealed last year in a similar manner. According to a source who has cited “Apple employees” from Hong Kong, have revealed that the device Lin was showing is the real deal and will come with QHD display.
How exactly can we be sure these “Apple employees” are the real deal? Well, we can’t, but according to a fresh report, Apple has shipped several of these beta units out to various facilities for testing purposes, including one in Hong Kong. If that is the case, then why haven’t we seen more of these devices leak out? According to the very same sources, each device has a unique set of features which can reveal the origin of the leak, meaning that those with beta handsets will be more reluctant to spill the beans.
Finally the same source claims that the iPhone 6 will come with a QHD display, the source doesn’t reveal which of the two rumoured iPhone’s it’ll feature on, but presumably the larger 5.5-inch model than the smaller 4.7-inch model as getting a 2560 x 1600 resolution on that size screen is very hard to make – though it’s not like Apple haven’t done the impossible before.
Of course, despite claims that ‘Apple employees’ have confirmed this information, it’s probably advisable to take this with a pinch of salt until Apple actually reveal something this September.
