It’s looking like an upcoming The Legend of Zelda release might feature multiplayer, at least that’s what producer Eiji Aonuma has seemingly confirmed in an interview with GameInformer. Unfortunately it wasn’t made clear whether it’ll feature in an entirely new title, or the upcoming Zelda game that Nintendo tease at E3.
One recent Zelda themed title we all know will feature multiplayer will be the Dynasty Warriors spin-off, Hyrule Warriors, that’ll allow two people to take on the hordes of enemies with a friend. This has triggered questions towards Nintendo asking whether The Legend of Zelda will follow suit and also include mutliplayer. In an interview with GameInformer, producer Aonuma said:
“When I was talking back about making Zelda more than just a single-player experience? That’s something you will see in the future, maybe next year.” Though it’s not quite a confirmation, we’ll run with it, because we all want a multiplayer Zelda game, right?
We’re not sure whether Aonuma is hinting that the upcoming game will include multiplayer, or a new title completely which, like Hyrule Warriors, strays away from the standard RPG affair. Either way, I’m looking forward to it!
