The Nokia X was something we all thought would be Nokia’s first and last attempt at releasing an Android phone before the buy out by Microsoft came to a close. Oh how we were wrong. It seems like Microsoft is fully supportive of Nokia’s dip into the world of Android and are currently teasing the announcement of a new handset just before Google will be holding their Google I/O event.. Awkward.
Before Nokia unveiled their range of Nokia X devices they posted a tease onto the Nokia Conversations Blog which represented a huge “X”, A similar image has now appeared once again along with the date, June 24, suggesting that Microsoft have something green up their sleeves, perhaps the Nokia X2?
According to rumours, the Nokia X2 will be a step-up from the Nokia X with a 4.3-inch display, 5-megapixel camera, and 1.2GHz dual-core processor, there’s also rumours that the RAM will be bumped to 1GB too making it much more powerful than the original Nokia X.
I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence, or whether Microsoft are purposely announcing their new device just before Google’s I/O event which is happening on June 25-26, it’s unlikely what Microsoft has to offer will out-shine what Google possibly have literally up their sleeves.
