There’s two things I’m eagerly waiting for this year and they’re both the release of the Moto 360 and the Moto X+1, both of which have been touted for release “later this summer.” What I didn’t expect though, was the release of the Moto 360, the first circular Android Wear powered smartphone to be made available through the Moto Maker, Motorola’s platform to personalise Motorola devices.
The news comes from a source speaking to Phone Arena who has revealed that “Motorola wants to release both the Moto 360 and the X+1 at the same time, and make both available through Moto Maker,” according to the report. The source didn’t indicate exactly what options customers will have to personalise the Moto 360, but the device does come with interchangeable straps made from both metal, leather, and a more sporty rubber. Perhaps a custom watch face can also be chosen, though these can be changed once the user has the device.
With other rumours suggesting we won’t be seeing the Moto X+1 until the very late part of summer, around mid-to-late-September, it’s unlikely that we’ll be seeing anything of the Moto 360 or Moto X+1 any time soon.
Roll on September I say.
