Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Poster Banned in US For Being too Risqué.

A poster for the new Sin City movie has been banned in the US, and won’t be used to promote the film. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is the neo-noir sequel to the 2005 film adaptation of Frank Miller’s Sin City graphic novels of the same name.

A Dame to Kill For follows the second comic in the series and picks up some of the stories told in the 2005 film. To the annoyance of some comic fans a story was created for the film, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The poster in question features the French Actor Eva Green wearing very little, has been banned by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for the following reasons:

“for nudity — curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown.”

You can see the banned poster below.

Green plays Ava Lord in the upcoming Sin City sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and earlier this year was Artemisia in 300: Rise of an Empire earlier this year. Back in April we brought you the news that a new trailer was released for the sequel, click through to check it out.

After a delay from October last year, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will be landing in the UK on August 29th this side of the pond.
