Sleeping Dogs Developer Confirms Free-to-Play Game is on the Way.

Canadian studio United Front Games, the developer behind the hit action adventure hit, Sleeping Dogs, has confirmed that they’ve got a free-to-play game in the works and have revealed a partnership with Nexon America to publish the title. No details have been revealed about the game, but rumours suggest it could be the company’s previously announced Triad Wars title.

United Front have yet to reveal details on the game, but are looking forward to actually announcing the title. “We can’t wait to unveil our new title with Nexon America – we’re confident it’s going to be a smash hit,” said UFG boss Stephen van der Mescht.

The game is set to be released in 2015, so it’s unlikely that we’ll hear too many details about the game until late this year, early next.

In October last year, United Front revealed that they had a new game set in the same world as Sleeping Dogs, titled Triad Wars according to a trademark application which was then confirmed by the developers. It was revealed that they’re partnering with Square Enix for that title too, so it doesn’t seem too hopeful that this free-to-play effort is the same game in question.

We’ll know more hopefully later this year.

Honestly what a waste of such good talent. Sleeping Dogs was the best GTA clone out of all the ones I’ve played, Saint’s Row, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV.
