SteelSeries and EA have come together to release a series of themed computer peripherals to compliment the release of The Sims 4.
As if Simmers weren’t addicted enough already, the collection includes a mousepad, mouse and gaming headset crafted not for the sake of collection but for that of full immersion during play to help you feel “part of the game” as explained by The Sims Studio VP,
“The Sims franchise has some of the best fans in the world and we wanted to enhance their experience to allow them to immerse themselves even further into the game,” said Rachel Franklin, VP and General Manager of The Sims Studio. “The Sims 4 is centered around our new Sims and their emotions and we believe that players will feel even more connected with the game as their peripherals reflect the mood of their Sims.”
Both headset and mouse each house an infamous Plumbob icon which is set to light up and change colour depending on your Sim’s mood, including considerably deeper emotions such as inspiration.
“Working with Electronic Arts has allowed us to introduce the passion of what we do as peripheral makers to The Sims community, which is one of the most enthusiastic and engaged audiences in gaming,” added Tino Soelberg, SteelSeries CTO. “We are thrilled to bring these truly unique peripherals to all types of players, from those experiencing The Sims for the first time to seasoned Simmers.”
The hardware is both PC and Mac compatible and available for purchase with the probable October release of the game, costing US$40/EU€40 per headset, US$30/EU€30 per mouse and US$15/EU€15 per mousepad. Prices in GBP have yet to be defined.
