Ubisoft and NVidia have today announced that they’re partnering together once again to bring the same amazing PC experiences found in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassins Creed IV Black Flag and Watch Dogs, to Ubisoft’s upcoming titles, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, The Crew, and Tom Clancy’s The Division.
The two companies have announced the “next chapter in their strategic partnership” to bring cutting edge visual technologies and “amazing PC experiences” to Ubisoft’s upcoming titles on PC. With NVidia’s GameWorks Team working closely with Ubisoft’s development studios, they hope to incorporate cutting edge graphics technology and gaming innovations into the world of Assassin’s Creed Unity and the entire United States of America in The Crew, to bring unprecedented realism and immersion to their upcoming titles.
“Working with NVIDIA has enabled us to bring an enhanced gameplay experience to our PC players,” said Geoffroy Sardin, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ubisoft. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with NVIDIA on our biggest upcoming titles.”
NVIDIA’s GameWorks technology includes TXAA antialiasing, which provides Hollywood-levels of smooth animation, soft shadows, HBAO+ (horizon-based ambient occlusion), advanced DX11 tessellation, and NVIDIA PhysX technology. Which, for those of you (myself included) who don’t know, make things look pretty!
With Ubisoft bringing these titles and more to E3 next week, it’ll be really interesting to see just how NVidia’s technologies come into play, especially once we eventually get our hands on these games near the end of the year.
