For Wii U owners in the UK who were hoping to get their hands on Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker this Christmas, are going to have to wait a few more months as Nintendo has revealed that the game will be delayed until January, 2015. Elsewhere in the world the original release window of Winter 2014 still remains.
Following Nintendo announcing poor sales of the Wii U despite the success of Mario Kart 8, the company also revealed that they’ll be pushing back the release of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker which was announced at E3 this year. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker see’s our titular mushroom navigate his way around a series of three-dimensional platform puzzles in order to, well, track treasure. The game itself is a spin-off from the Mario series, and those who are fans of Super Mario 3D World will instantly recognise this game as it builds upon the Adventures of Captain Toad minigame within Super Mario 3D World.
The reason for the delay in Europe alone is unknown, but we’ve reached out to Nintendo for a comment.
