This October were going to see even more Batman titles. Surprisingly, though this continues the trend of a Batman book that doesn’t really feature Batman.
Gotham Academy will see the exploits of students at a the top Gotham prep school which Bruce Wayne is a benefactor. Class begins on October the 1st. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Gotham Academy though, as it also featured in Young Justice as the school that Bruce Wayne and teen bat heroes like Robin.
Arkham Manor will see Wayne Manor turned into a psychological institution somehow, as well as the promise of death. Our first session begins on the 22nd October. Arkham Manor is written by Gerry Duggan (Deadpool, Fear Agent) and drawn by Shawn Crystal (Deadpool, Fantomex MAX), while Gotham Academy is written by Becky Cloonan (American Virgin, DEMO) and Brenden Fletcher (Wednesday Comics) and drawn by Karl Kerschl (Adventures of Superman, Teen Titans).
With one of the series titles (Gotham Academy) even trending on Twitter along with a mixed receptions and fans airing their views I think it’s time to give you the cover lowdown courtesy of Entertainment Weekly:
