It looks like Superman isn’t going to be the only person versing Batman in the near future. The latest rumours suggest that Batman: Arkham Knight will be the releasing on February 24th, the same day as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It is unlikely that sharing a release date will effect Arkham Knight sales, The Witcher might suffer a little.
Both games were originally suppose to be released in 2014 but were delayed until 2015. Marcin Iwinski one of the founders of CD Projekt Red promised that The Witcher 3 won’t suffer from any more delays, so with that it looks like they might have to move the date forward if they don’t fancy going up against Batman. With the Arkham series not only offering some of the best superhero games available, it also offers some of the best on the last gen, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if CD Projekt Red didn’t want to go up against them.
Both Batman: Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be the final part of the trilogy from their respective studios and will be each studios first latest-gen game, both of which are latest-gen exclusives.
Batman: Arkham Knight from Rocksteady will see the return of Scarecrow and the introduction of a new villain, the Arkham Knight. On his return to Gotham, Scarecrow unites Batman’s rouges gallery in an attempt to finally take out the Dark Knight. The reveal trailer for Arkham Knight revealed Penguin, Two Face and Harley Quinn as part of the game. Batman: Arkham Knight will also include a drivable Batmobile to get around the huge map on offer.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from CD Projekt Red will see the return of Geralt of Rivia on of the last Witchers, genetically mutated monster hunters. The game will see the Wild Hunt sweeping the land and a search for the daughter of prophecy. The Witcher 3 will include a huge map that will offer hundreds of hours of game play.
