The Korean Herald has released information about Samsung’s Galaxy S5 F, which reportedly is going to come out later this year as a competitor to Apple’s iPhone 6.
The phone, which could be named the S5 F or the S5 Alpha, will have a 4.7-inch super AMOLED screen . This is quite interesting because if it’s released around the time of the next iPhone, you would assume that this is Samsung’s next flagship. So, the fact that only a 4.7-inch screen will be used is surprising because the Galaxy S5’s screen is 5.1-inches. The Herald adds that the iPhone 6 is expected to have a 4.7-inch model so Samsung could use that size as a direct alternative.
The Galaxy S5 F will be powered by an Exynos Octa processor and will have a metal body and be a staggering 6-mm thick. It’s staggering because the S5 measures in at 8.1-mm. In fact, it’s so slim that according to the industry sources, it is known as the ‘card-phone’. If it is a direct competitor to the iPhone 6, Apple will do well to make their phone that size.
As usual for rumours, take it with a pinch of salt. There has been no official information and according to the Herald, Samsung is denying any plans of launching new phones.
